Tennis anyone?

I should be posting a photo of my fingernails now, because I won't have any left later this afternoon.

The Bell & Grant Nova Scotia Open begins today, and my younger boy is scheduled to play singles around noon – although there's a great deal of "hurry up and wait" when it comes to these events. Come by and catch the action this week, and see why homes in the vicinity of "The Waeg" get snatched up so fast.

How I ended up with a tennis-crazy kid could have something to do with our proximity to several of Halifax's public tennis courts, together with his fear-nothing personality.

I took up the sport a few years ago, and barely had time to break in my new tennis outfits (love the clothes!) before I threw out my shoulder. Maria Sharapova I am not.

Two Canadian juniors recently made a clean sweep in singles at Wimbledon – and one can only hope this will inspire more kids to pick up a racquet.

I picked up a couple of old wooden racquets at a garage sale recently. Like dream catchers for topspin – I plan on doing something like this above my little Federer's bed.

But first, the Waegwoltic's answer to Wimbledon.

Wish me, I mean, him... luck!
